Our Impressions
The 4th Connecticut Regiment
The 4th Connecticut is a representative of what most of the American forces looked like during the post-Valley Forge, Pre-Yorktown portion of the American War for Independence. Our Company is named after Colonel John Durkee’s Company, which saw action in The Battle of Monmouth.
The King’s 8th Regiment
The King’s 8th was garrisoned throughout the American War for Independence. Michigan had two of of its forts (Michilimackinac & Detroit) staffed with soldiers from the King’s 8th, as well as the Royal Artillery. in 1774 Michilimackinac became home to Arent Schuyler DePeyster, at the time a
Captain-Lieutenant DePeyster would eventually become a Major and be effectively in charge of the King’s 8th in (what would become) Michigan.
Not Just Soldiers
While our main mission is to portray the American Revolution in the year 1778 we welcome civilian impressions of all sorts. Rather you’d like to portray a Soldier, a Tailor, a Chandler, a Musician, a (much needed at the time) Laundress or cook, or really anything else, we want you!
